Divine G, imprisoned in Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose in acting in a theater group with other incarcerated men in this story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art. At the beginning of the film, the cast is rehearsing for various parts in the play. The group is criticized for not doing comedies, but their previous play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is a comedy.
The cast was amazing
Appeared in Late Night with Seth Meyers: Anna Faris/Colman Domingo/Jose Medeles (2024). Blades composed by Bryce Dessner. Best movie I’ve seen in a while.
Colman Domingo is incredible
The filmography is truly unique and really sets the tone. The plot was well-crafted and paced. I was very moved by this movie.
Definitely worth watching on the big screen
The film is based on a true story about the Reformed Through Art theater program at Sing Sing. Many of the characters are played by former members of the program. The emotional range of the characters in this film is extremely compelling.
Just deeply lovely
I was moved to tears several times during the film. This film is touching and moving; it explores hope, pain, and redemption.
