Story
The author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem-Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to find that the townspeople are being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. He wants to get rid of the sexier, more romanticized undead that have flooded pop culture for most of the last quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight and The Vampire Diaries.

I really enjoyed the book when I read it in the 80’s and was looking forward to the release of this movie but was disappointed
I’m not a purist and I’m not usually against different interpretations of fictional history, but the changes weren’t the worst parts, it would have been boring storytelling and the movie just felt rushed. There was no character development, the acting was mediocre although Alfre Woodard stood out and I wish she was featured more as she was the best part of the movie for me even though she was barely in it and I can’t say this enough, Nothing has happened in history that interests me.
Unfortunately, a completely forgettable film
It would have been nice to have a little backstory on someone, a real look at the developing novel that took place to help us really feel the main character’s pain, other than the boring walls we got. Not recommended..
