Gary Oldman was originally rumored to be cast but was replaced by Kevin Kline
Story
Follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the transgressions of long-respected institutions.. In multiple episodes, Jonathon uses the same lens throughout the series, a medium length telephoto.
Such a lens would be incapable of focusing on close-in subjects such as selfies with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine
The reviews on here are more entertaining than the actual show, lol.How on earth did Alfonso Cuaron manage to make such an awful show? Right from the start the two young people on the train in the first scene are irritating and the mediocre acting continues from there.
Even Kevin Kline, who normally can do no wrong in my eyes, seems to be phoning it in
It's like the actors have no idea how they're supposed to be playing their characters. The narration is unnatural and has a weird inconsistent audio quality to it. I assume the narration is lifted straight from the book, but it doesn't always make sense in the context of the tv show.
Cody Smit-McPhee mopes around like a wet rag
For example, sometimes the narration is directed at Cate Blanchett's character about her own experience, which is just strange. Sacha Baron Cohen seems out of place and gets weirdly hysterical at times. It's all a bit bizarre.
