This is his favorite Michael Keaton movie of his own.. Oth’s shoes when he sprays the walls in the house change from fire red elf shoes to white sneakers when he goes through the bathroom and then change back to red elf shoes. he enters the next room. Adam: What are your qualifications? Beetlejuice: Oh. Well… I attended Juilliard… I’m a graduate of Harvard Business School. I travel quite a lot. I survived the black plague and had a pretty good time doing it. I’VE SEEN THE EXORCIST ABOUT 167-SEVEN TIMES AND EACH TIME I WATCH IT GET FUNNER… NOT TO MENTION YOU’RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY… NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? Do you think I am qualified? The Geffen logo is accompanied by a haunting version of the Banana Boat song (sung by the film’s composer Danny Elfman). A work print of the film has surfaced with several added/alternate scenes. This version of the film runs about 2 minutes shorter than the theatrical release, has a few extra scenes and some others missing, is in black and white, and has a timecode on the bottom.
This version has 4 main differences:
Alternate Scene:
The scene where Adam tries to leave the house and his wife dies is different. Instead of a desert, he sees an empty darkness full of rolling gears.
Extra scenes:
There is an added scene where Lydia creates images of Adam and Barbra. After her mother yells at her and accuses her of cutting holes in her sheets, Lydia runs upstairs and tries to convince her father that the pictures are real.
There is more to the scene where the adults search the attic for ghosts as we see a desert monster try to eat Adam and Barbra as they hang from the attic window.
Finally, there’s another 2 minute scene at the end where we see Lydia riding her bike home from school and her parents on the phone with Jane telling her they don’t want to sell the house.
Lydia’s dance scene is shorter in this version and there is no scene with Beetlejuice in the waiting room. The film ends with the last exterior shot of the house. Adapted into Terror Toons (2002). Day-OTraditional, lyrics by William A. Attaway & Irving Burgie [Wrongly attributed as written by William A. Attaway & Irving Burgie (as Lord Burgess)] Featuring Harry Belafonte courtesy of RCA Records. This is a great movie to just watch and enjoy – no need to think or analyze – just enjoy the silliness and cool factor of this pretty movie. A young couple living in their dream home (Alec Baldwin and Gina Davis) is accidentally killed. and then live as ghosts in the house. Some time later, a family of eccentrics (Jeffery Jones, Catherine O’Hara) and their disgruntled daughter (Winona Ryder) move in–much to the spirits' annoyance. This is because instead of respecting the charms of a beautiful home, parents want to turn him into a pseudo-intellectual freak. However, Winona is somehow able to see and communicate with the ghosts – but her parents cannot believe that they exist or that they are doing something wrong to the house. The dead couple tries to scare the family, but their attempts are really lame (and funny) and that only makes the weirdos stay even more! So out of desperation, they seek out the meanest and most unpleasant ghost, Beetle Juice (Michael Keaton), to help them.
