Story
Inspired by a true story and directed by Magnus von Horn, THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE follows Karoline (Vic Carmen Sonne), a young factory worker struggling to survive in post-World War I Copenhagen. When she finds herself unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs a secret adoption agency that helps mothers find adoptive homes for their unwanted children. With nowhere to go, Karoline takes on the role of wet nurse. A strong connection forms between the two women, but Karolina’s world comes crashing down when she stumbles upon the shocking truth behind her work.
