Then I had this crazy idea to write a novel. “Everyone said it was a joke or that I was crazy because the chances of it being published were a hundred to one, even a thousand. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars were in the running for the role of the Jackal in the 1973 film, but the role went to a then-unknown Edward Fox because director Fred Zinnemann thought he could blend in with the crowd.
The actors give some truly great performances

Lynch’s performance was a major letdown
Her performance seemed very one-sided, which was unfortunately noticeable in an ensemble cast full of strong, nuanced performances. It’s not because of race – I can think of some amazing black actresses who could have given the role more depth and complexity. It’s just that her performance didn’t live up to the quality of the show as a whole, which was disappointing. Nevertheless, the series is worth watching for its story and the great performances from the other actors.
