Story
This movie was extremely simplistic and vulgar, which made it seem like an American comedy. I can see an American remake in its future. It was quite refreshing for a French comedy, although it’s not my favorite type. French comedies usually start out funny and suddenly become serious before the end.
His brothers are greedy and pure evil
No one has a hidden edge: Benoît remains clumsy and cowardly from start to finish. The fake girlfriend has no social graces from start to finish. Only the parents are the same standard rich and confused couple you see in most French comedies. They were the least interesting because their arc is totally predictable in such movies.
I can see an American remake in its future
I’m glad I have an unlimited movie pass, though, because ticket prices have gotten so high at the movies that I would have been unhappy to have spent a lot of money on this.
